Welcome to the Greater New Orleans Area CFC!
A Message from our 2009 Campaign Chair
Dear Fellow Federal Employees,
I am proud to serve you as Chairman of the 2009 Greater New Orleans Area Combined Federal Campaign.
This year’s Campaign runs from September 1 through December 15, 2009. Without a doubt, the Campaign has a huge impact on our communities across the North- and South-Shores. I invite everyone to participate, contribute, and support this combined effort.
As a meteorologist, I am constantly reminded about the fragility of life and the human will to recover. Aside from the weather, there are so many in our communities that are in need of help. Recently, a good friend of mine had a stroke at the age of 43. Watching him recover with the support of his wife and two young boys was inspirational. His greater community of extended family, church, and friends came together as one to bolster his recovery. Their combined efforts brought strength to everyone involved. That is what the Combined Federal Campaign represents. This is an opportunity for our Federal family to come together and support those among us that are less fortunate. In doing so, we can truly embody this year’s theme of “Be a Star in Someone’s Life”.
Last year, contributions totaled $1.45 million dollars. This year, our goal is to increase our giving to $1.55 million dollars. Leadership is not a position, but an attitude. It will take the leadership of all Federal employees to make this year’s campaign a success as we strive to reach our goals. I invite everyone to think outside of box and find new ways to make the 2009 Campaign exciting and fun! With the continued recovery efforts of our area and with challenged local and national economies, it is more important than ever to take this opportunity to make a difference, give to those in need, and truly “Be a Star in Someone’s Life”.
