Marvel Robertson, FOD, New Orleans Field Office nominated Crystal Jones-Taylor, FPM Operations Specialist to serve as a Loaned Executive for the Federal Executive Board for the Greater New Orleans 2009 Combine Federal Campaign (CFC) from September 1 through December 19, 2009. As Loaned Executive she worked with four other Federal employees out of the United Way Office assisting the CFC Director and Coordinator to meet the Federal Executive Board Goal of to raise $1,554,000 for the Greater New Orleans area. She provided personal leadership management to 30 federal agencies and provided training for the CFC On-site Coordinators and their key supportive workers, drop off campaign materials, monitor individual account progress; maintained regular contact with CFC Director and ensure that appropriate
deadlines were met for campaign closure. As part of her responsibilities she served as a trainer for the CFC Coordinates and Key Workers Training held at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, Louisiana. Approximately 150 Federal and Military employees participated in the training. On October 7, 2009, she also organized a half-a-day CFC training for 23 Federal Employees who were not able to attend the general training. In preparation for this assignment Crystal participated in a three day on-the-job training sessions held at the Unity Way of Greater New Orleans Office. As of December 31, 2009, 75% of the CFC goal was successfully reached totaling $1,164,532 raised for the cause.

The stars were shining bright for this year’s Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) on October 29, 2009, as HUD New Orleans Field Office co-hosted along with eleven other Federal Agencies (Internal Revenue Service, Office of the U.S. Trustee, National Labor Relations Board, U. S. department of
Labor, U.S. Coast Guard, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. Attorney Office, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, U.S. District Court-Eastern Louisiana, U.S. Marshals Services, U.S. Per-trail Services, U.S. Probation Office and General Services Admin./Public Building Services) the first Combined Federal Campaign Joint Federal Kick-off post Hurricane Katrina. The theme for this year’s kick-off was “Be a Star in Someone’s Life”.
Approximately 300 Federal employees attended the Hale Boggs Federal Building CFC celebration. We were joined by Mary Thomas, Internal Revenue Services, CFC Civilian Chair, COL Anthony S. Ford, 377th Theater Sustainment Command Military Co-Chair, Capt. Lory Gerdes, U.S. Marine Corps Military Loaned Executive and Crystal Jones-Taylor, HUD CFC Loaned Executives, in addition to our guest speaker we have nine external community-based organizations who set-up information exhibitor booths (A Child’s Wish of Greater New Orleans, CASA of New Orleans, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans, Ozanam Inn, Project Lazarus, The St. Bernard Project, United Negro College Fund and United Way of Greater New Orleans.
Gwen Tucker, Paralegal, Office of General Counsel, New Orleans Field Office as she graced us with her beautiful voice. Mrs. Tucker was selected by the CFC Planning Committee to sing the National Anthem at the event. As a result of the joint kick-off Federal Agencies in the Hale Boggs Building collectively contributed approximately $83,740 towards the 2009 CFC of this amount the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development New Orleans Field Office staff successfully contributed $17,268.
HUD New Orleans Field Office CFC Committee was made-up of Sara Poole, PIH Presidential Inter,
served as On-site Coordinator, Wayne Jenevein, Automation Technology Administrator, served as On-site Co-coordinator, other CFC Committee Members were Crystal Jones-Taylor, FPM Operations Specialist, Tia Evans, FPM Customer Services Representative, Gwen Tucker, OGC Paralegal Specialist, Toni Goff, Equal Opportunity Specialist, FHEO, Leatrice Jackson, MF Project Manager and Deborah Cage, CPD Representative.
